BlueCoo is Worldwide! Although our website design studio is based in Dundee, Scotland, we’ve worked with clients all over the world, such as closer to home England or overseas, like Retire Thailand from Thailand, or Men Again from America! In fact, having to work from home due to the pandemic allowed us to improve and polish our work flow to be fully remote with no issues. We’ve adapted to using Zoom, Google Meets, Slack, Discord, Google Keep and GlooMaps to make creating a website not only easy for ourselves, but for our clients as well. No matter what, we’re only a phone call or email away! So, let’s take a look at what the process from initial web design meeting to launch looks like when a client is plane flight away.
Web Design Meetings and Communication
First thing that follows after your website enquiry either by online form or email is a design consultation meeting. We will set up a video or phone meeting to get to know you and your business, to identify what you want the website to do, and find out more about what kind of design you’re leaning towards. This meeting is completely free-of-charge, and will allow us to provide you with an accurate personalised quote which we’ll email you usually within 2 or 3 days.
The rest of meetings and communication will happen in a similar fashion. Normally, we’ll have about 3 to 4 of these type of meetings (design consultation, concept, and before launch) in order to deliver your website. Additional communication will usually be through email, instant messages, and phone calls, on which we keep on top of so you are sure to get a response quickly. As a bonus, we’re super friendly and easy to talk to. 😄
Concept and Tweaks
Once we put together a concept, we’ll have another online meeting where we’ll share our screen to take you through the initial concept which will normally include the homepage, and sometimes one additional page for a specific purpose. From there, we will take note of all your feedback and tweaks you’d like made and afterwards implement them. If there aren’t too many changes, we will get back to you with concept screenshots for your approval via email before we move on to putting together the rest of the pages according to the concept. Otherwise, we’ll have another concept meeting and move on from there.
Website Content
Once all the pages are done, we will reach out to you once more for content. You will be able to provide us concept either via WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox or whichever way you prefer. Content will include photography, text and anything else you wish to be displayed on your website. We also offer copywriting services if you require, and have access to a vast amount of beautiful stock photography that we can make use of. We also build our websites with SEO in mind already, so we’ll make sure to focus the way the website is designed to cater with ease for future SEO for your location or industry.
Final Checks and Launch
When all the content is in, we work on making the website fully responsive to work across any device. During this time, we will also have one last meeting to go over the whole of the website in detail as well as give you access to explore it in your own time. This way you can make note of anything you’d like tweaked and we can complete all of these before launching.
After final thorough checks of the content, links, responsiveness and so on, we are ready to launch the website. We’ll communicate with you as to when you’d like that to happen, and we make it live on your chosen day.
And that’s that! Creating a website for clients abroad is actually not that different from local, only difference is that we’ve gotten really good at Zoom. 😄
