Here at BlueCoo we work with a variety of different clients across Scotland and have recently carried out a  project delivering web design in Perth, Scotland.

More recently we designed a logo and website for photographer, Andy Weir who is based in Perth, Scotland. Andy was looking for a brand that represented traditional landscape photography whilst still being modern. He loved the idea of using a vintage camera so we integrated this into the design.

The client specified that he would like the website to showcase his fantastic landscape photography most of which has been taken in Scotland and Perthshire. After discussing the project at length we opted for a clean minimalist style with a constant left sidebar to make navigation easy. Andy loved the idea of using black and white photography on his site but felt lack of colour may take away from his photographs. To achieve this, we used a roll over effect which colourised the images on rollover and when clicked. We integrated lightbox into the website so the pictures could be viewed in the appropriate dimensions.

The site was made using the WordPress platform which meant that Andy could add his new photographs easily himself. We gave him a lesson on how best to upload the images, correct dimensions and image formats which allowed him to keep the site current.  The website was also made fully responsive so that those viewing it in mobile would have as good a user experience as those using it on desktop.  In order to do this we made the side navigation switch to a top menu  on certain devices and the gallery stacking for ease of scrolling.

I am an amateur photographer and was looking for a website to showcase some of my work. I had a very particular idea in my mind for how I wanted the site to look and BlueCoo Creative were great at bringing my ideas to life. They took the time to sit down with me and go through my preferences and also explained technical things in simple English.
